She Almost Didn't Book…. Here's What Happened at Her Boudoir Session in Beaufort, SC

You might think that every boudoir session begins the same way.

A woman walks into Boudoir by Emily feeling a little nervous, unsure what to expect, and wondering if she's really ready to do something like this.

K was no different.

She arrived for her session at Bay Street Studios in Beaufort, SC and shared that this experience had been on her mind for quite some time.

Her mom had been photographed by me back in 2018, and witnessing how empowered and beautiful her mom felt after her session left a lasting impression on her.

She began following along on my social media, watching other women go through the same transformation. When she saw that I had returned to the area, she knew it was finally time to book her own session. Just the perfect little pick-me-up, and a chance to do something just for herself.

K shared with me about her recent struggles with her body and feeling uncertain about certain angles and positions. What she didn't realize yet was that you don't need to arrive confident. That part happens inside the studio.

We started with professional hair and makeup, giving K time to settle into the experience and begin to feel pampered.

By the time I started coaching her through each pose, the nerves began to melt away.

With gentle guidance through every position, every movement, and every detail, K quickly realized she didn't need to know what to do. That was my job.

All she had to do was trust the process.

There is always a moment during every boudoir session where something shifts…

For K, it happened after her first outfit change.

Her shoulders relaxed.

Her smile became natural.

Her confidence began to show through every image we created.

Suddenly, the woman who had walked into the studio feeling unsure was standing in front of the camera, completely owning the moment.

And that is the transformation I love witnessing Every. Single. Time.
